Are you interested in learning about tooth whitening procedures? You may have already tried the over the counter brands that promise to whiten your teeth. If so, you’ve likely realized that, in reality, the promises simply don’t hold up. Most people need a professional tooth whitening procedure, like Zoom! Whitening, to get rid of the discolorations that have built up over the years from coffee, tea, soft drinks and other foods that stain the teeth. Here are the basics about Zoom! Whitening that you should know.
How Does it Work?
The dentist at the New York Center of Cosmetic Dentistry will first cover your face and lips and leave only your teeth exposed. Then, he’ll apply a special gel that contains hydrogen peroxide that will begin to loosen the stains on your teeth. Next, he’ll use the latest technology and shine a laser light on the gel that will activate it so it can do its work.
How Long Does it Take?
Zoom! Whitening can be done in our offices in just an hour. The dentist will do the procedure three times—once every fifteen minutes—to reveal the white teeth that are underneath all of the stains. Just think, you could have teeth that are up to eight times whiter, and you could do it on your lunch hour.
Do I Have to Do it In Office?
Not everyone wants to undergo a tooth whitening procedure in the dental chair. For those people, our New York Center for Cosmetic Dentistry also uses the home version of the Zoom! Whitening treatment. With it, you’ll administer the treatment yourself in the comfort of your home. You’ll do this for about fourteen days, and get the same fantastic results.
