Zoom Advanced Power In-Office Whitening

Over time, common foods and drinks such as berries, candies with dye, sauces, red wine, coffee, tea, and colas stain the teeth. These types of stains can’t be removed effectively with typical whitening toothpastes. Zoom! Teeth Whitening is a relatively simple in office procedure that can effectively restore the teeth to their natural white color by removing surface stains.

The Results

Getting your teeth professionally cleaned prior to the Zoom! whitening procedure is highly recommended for the most optimal results. There is no specific number on how many shades lighter your teeth will be, but some of our clients’ teeth have gotten up to eight shades whiter after the procedure. The results will always vary from patient to patient but your teeth will not look artificially white as Zoom! works by restoring the natural color of your teeth. You will be able to notice a difference in your teeth immediately after the procedure is finished.

After The Procedure

We recommend avoiding foods and drinks with heavy dyes and colors for a few days after the teeth whitening procedure. An easy thing to remember is that if the food or drink can stain a white paper cup then you should probably avoid it. This includes drinks such as coffee, tea, and colored sodas. If you cannot avoid consuming these drinks then it is best to drink them with a straw and then brush your teeth right after. Typically a maintenance bleaching tray or Crest Professional Whitestrips for a week is suggested after.

A small number of our patients have experienced some sensitivity after the procedure but this can easily be relieved with Sensodyne or other toothpastes designed for sensitivity. Aspirin and other anti-inflammatory medication also works well to soothe the sensitivity.

If you live in the New York City area and are looking for a safe, easy, and effective way to whiten your teeth, Zoom! Teeth Whitening is your answer. At the New York Center For Cosmetic Dentistry, we have helped many of our patients get a much brighter and younger looking smile with Zoom Teeth Whitening. Contact us to schedule an appointment.

At Home Whitening

Teeth Whitening Options We Offer in New York City

There are many teeth whitening products on the market such as toothpastes and whitening strips. These products are effective at maintaining white teeth but they are less effective at removing years of stains embedded into the surface and the sensitivity that comes with it. Our at home teeth whitening kits are much more concentrated and effective than over the counter solutions. Additionally, because our trays are custom fit, taken by precise impressions of your teeth, there is less sensitivity involved because there is less of a chance for the whitening materials to move around your mouth.

Our home whitening kits also uses the Zoom brand whitening agent and requires an in-office, 15 minute visit to get custom-made trays made from impressions of your teeth to ensure the closest maximum seal. The at home do-it-yourself method of teeth whitening consists of the application of a mild whitening solution inside the custom made tray that is molded to fit your teeth. The tray is then worn for half an hour to one hour per day - overnight or during the day. The at home teeth whitening method can take up to 2 weeks for substantial results.

The Quick White

Looking for a full service teeth whitening treatment before a date, job interview, or a wedding? The Quick White employs the same Zoom technology, including the same whitening lamp and the whitening agent. The only difference being that it is a single 15 minute session compared to the 45 minute full Zoom treatment. It is an in and out “lunchtime” procedure used as a touch-up/maintenance visit either between full treatments, coupled with or without your bi-annual cleaning, or as a quick and affordable tooth brightening service for those who are not looking for the longer term results.

Easy Ways to Get Whiter Teeth

Little things can make the difference between pearly-white teeth and not-so-pearly-white teeth—like when you brush, how you brush, and the foods you eat (it’s not as obvious as you’d think!). I asked Emanuel Layliev, a dentist in New York City and the director of the New York Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, about the things you can do every day to get whiter teeth. Read More
