Great question – and actually, this is a quite common question, especially for those who are older and do not wish to wear braces. For most people, the answer is YES! We have been able to help many adults who did not want braces achieve their desired smile. You actually have a few different options when it comes to crooked teeth. Invisalign is a common option for many adults who wish to receive orthodontic treatment but do not want traditional metal braces. This system utilizes clear trays called aligners that fit over the teeth to help straighten them. This method isn’t as conspicuous as some other methods, with no pain and no down-time. This method can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to achieve desired results depending on the severity of your crowding or spacing.
Another option is to use porcelain veneers to help straighten your crooked teeth. They will fill in the spaces between your teeth, giving you the look of a perfectly aligned, symmetrical smile. The procedure normally takes two visits of several hours, spaced out about two weeks apart to achieve your desired results.
In order to find the best option for your crooked teeth, you will need to visit our office for a consultation, where we can explore your options and determine which one is best for you!
Not to worry – we can help! Your options are all dependent on how bad the chip is – sometimes, a chip can simply be filed away and then sealed. An affordable option for some people is also bonding. However, the best option is usually porcelain veneers. Any of these methods can be applied to a variety of chips or misshapen teeth. Our dentists will work with your natural shape and color to restore your radiant smile again.

Unfortunately, at this time, we do not offer free consultations. But our amazing team will happily meet with you to discuss your cosmetic dentistry needs from a financial standpoint. We will always be upfront, honest, and fully transparent about our costs and how we can help you to achieve your dream smile at an affordable price.
Due to their strength, quality materials, and expert placing by our team, porcelain veneers can last for decades or even a lifetime, with proper maintenance. Of course, it all depends on how serious you take your oral health, your dentist selection, and the regularity of your professional cleanings and exams.
The condition of your teeth before, during, and your maintenance of them after treatment will impact how long porcelain veneers last as well. You need to sustain smart eating habits and oral care throughout - we can walk you through the “dos and don’ts” of maintaining your amazing smile with porcelain veneers!
Luckily, there have been huge strides taken in dental technology over the years, especially in the realm of restorations. In today’s world, porcelain restorations are the standard for most people. However, some clients still wonder whether porcelain veneers or porcelain crowns are their best option. The answer to this question essentially lies in the condition of the natural tooth we plan to restore.
So, what’s the biggest difference? A veneer covers the front of the tooth, and a crown covers the entire tooth. It depends on what kind of correction you need and what will be most functional for you. It’s important to remember that your smile doesn’t just have to look good; it needs to feel great, and be functional, too!
Our expert dentists will walk you through every step of the process, from examining your mouth to taking impressions to recommending which options will provide you with optimal smile results!
The best way to care for your Invisalign trays is to gently clean them using a toothbrush and toothpaste, the old fashioned way. You can also use a denture cleaner like FreshGuard with lukewarm water or Invisalign cleaning crystals. You always want to be careful about extreme temperatures that you expose your trays to because they may deform.
Never chew on or pop your trays on and off when you have them in, as this can misshape them as well. You want to be very gentle and diligent at all times.
Veneers need a little TLC each day! To take care of your veneers, you should follow good oral hygiene habits. This includes brushing your teeth and flossing at least twice a day and using a non-abrasive toothpaste. You also want to use a night guard after the veneers are placed, especially if you have a history of biting down or grinding your teeth while you sleep. Porcelain doesn’t host plaque like regular teeth do, but you should still take care of them and keep them sparkling clean!
A normal diet should not pose any problems for veneers. However, you should avoid chewing on hard candy, biting your nails, using your teeth as “tools” or crushing ice because that can shorten the lifespan of your veneers. Regular check-ups on your teeth and veneers is also a must!
Your overbite options will depend on how bad your overbite is. This condition is much easier to treat when a child is young because their jaws are still developing and are easy to mold and reshape. Most adults with overbites will need a more intensive treatment. The best thing you can do for an overbite is to get Invisalign or, in extreme cases, surgery, to move your teeth. In some cases, bonding or veneers may help when reduced to attempt to set them back a bit, but they will not completely solve your overbite issue.
Since every overbite is different, we suggest scheduling a consultation with our expert New York dentists before making any final decisions.
